Case study of Jack Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Case study of Jack - Term Paper Example For example, Freud would say that Jack Welch has specific abilities that he inherits from his biology. He stutters, which would be considered abnormal in todayââ¬â¢s society. Thus, as a result this lays a genetic abnormality that is influencing the behavior of the individual. In addition, Freud would also comment on the number of divorces he had as the result of a problem in his psychosocial development, since Freud believed that humanity functioned on two principles alone: death and sex. Because Jack Welch has shown that he is unable to keep stable relationships, this poses an interesting problem as far as diagnosing where the abnormality lies in his psychosocial skills. Erikson, who was a student of Freudââ¬â¢s, would argue that the environment and relationships shape a person more so than the deterministic biological view. Erikson would say that Welch was able to overcome a majority of the psychosocial stages of development, such as inferiority vs. industry because he was ab le to find a way to be a very productive member in society. However, because he has had so many relationship problems, the comment could be made that there is neuroticism in the Intimacy vs. Isolation stage where he is unable to make a concrete relationship last a while.
